Dr. Tierney is an Orthopedic Surgeon who serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.  Dr. Tierney is fellowship trained and a Staff physician in Sports Medicine at New England Baptist Hospital.  Dr. Tierney currently serves as medical director for Greater Boston Orthopedic Center. Dr. Tierney’s specialties include the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle surgery, total knee replacements and Occupational Medicine. With a primary interest in shoulder reconstruction he has over 10 years experience in the research and arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff tears and instability of the shoulder.

Dr. Tierney is active in stem cell research in repairing cartilage in arthritic joints and in the treatment and prevention of arthritis via a holistic approach.

Dr. Tierney has been treating Occupational (workman’s compensation) injuries for over nine years and brings a “Professional Athlete’s care” approach to the treatment of the “industrial athletes” injury.  This includes a rapid diagnosis and treatment so as to return the worker to a better than pre injury status.

Dr. Tierney serves as the team physician for Westwood High School and is active in USA Gymnastics.

Eugenio Martinez, M.D.

Dr. Martinez has specialized primarily in the evaluation and treatment of non-surgical musculoskeletal pain disorders since completing his residency in Chicago in 1992.  He is a board-certified electromyographer with considerable expertise in evaluating and treating complex upper extremity disorders, as well as myofascial pain and fibromyalgia. 

Dr. Martinez was the Medical Director of the New England Spine Center in North Datrmouth, MA until 1999 at which time he decided to join the New England Baptist Spine Center staff where he has been a member of a growing team of physicians and therapists dedicated to not only directly addressing challenging spinal pain conditions, but also participating in research to advance the state of knowledge in treating such individuals.  Additionally, he has been affiliated with several orthopedic sports medicine practices, currently serving as staff physiatrist for Greater Boston Orthopedic Center.

Dr. Hester is a board-certified Podiatrist who also serves as podiatric consultant to the Boston Celtics, as well as several area high school and college athletic programs.  He is affiliated with New England Baptist Hospital and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, as well as a diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.  Prior to becoming a podiatrist, Dr. Hester was a practicing physical therapist for several years.

Dr. Hester is highly trained and experienced in both conservative and surgical treatment options for a wide array of foot problems, including many new technologies such as extracorporeal shock wave treatment for plantar fasciitis and joint resurfacing for foot arthritis.  Dr. Hester has published articles and given presentations on many foot-related topics, particularly sports injuries.
